Modernization Process Overview

This training course is a global introduction to Blu Age technology for people who will need to manage a team or to communicate with the stakeholders of a modernization project. During the session, participants will practice in a virtual environment in order to understand the key concepts of modernization and get a full overview on the approach and tools offered by Blu Age.

Objectives

  • Understanding and practicing modernization process of a legacy applications;
  • Understanding the principles of modernization proposed by Blu Age.

Requirements

This course targets project managers, project owners, sales representatives that have already been implied in developments projects.
It is recommended to know UML 2.x and an object oriented language.

  5. Demonstration on a real case.

    • Using "transmodeling", Pattern discovering and annotations features.

Winning your Legacy Modernization Projects

This training is targeting the sales and pre-sales team to efficiently market and sell Blu Age application modernization project. It is adapted to technical selling and the attendees must be ready to deal with such eco system. Participants will understand how to quickly qualify and size opportunities and how a legacy modernization project is performed with Blu Age. Training will be illustrated with actual samples taken from real projects. Trainees will also get familiar with the marketing material proposed by Blu Age to support a pre-sales action.

  • Being able to present Blu Age technology for legacy modernization in detail,
  • Being able to explain to customer how Blu Age is working thru tooling demonstrations,
  • Being able to qualify an opportunity and estimate project workload, budget and risks with the "on line" configuration tool,
  • Being able to describe reference projects.

Requirements

This course targets sales and marketing profiles, pre-sales engineers and program managers.
The participants must have a sufficient technical background on oriented object languages and/or on legacy systems and should be familiar with legacy system maintenance, Java EE or .Net ecosystems, ALM.

    • Calculate workload, project duration and budget,
    • Why proposing Blu Age in the cloud? Business case approach.
  3. Diving into a Cobol2JEE Case study and success story;
    • Project description: context, architectural challenge,
    • Description of the chosen target architecture,
    • Project management and Agile methodology,
    • Planning and budget,
  4. Opportunity Qualification and Workload Evaluation in live.
    • 2 to 3 opportunities based on Local actual opportunity are covered on real time
    • Trainees should provide about 6 cases at training start for pre-selection.
